First year here at HOL and loving it. In real life, I'm currently a senior and want to be an animal behaviorist in the future. I've embarked on the college search...though I don't see how any schools could be better than HOL! ;D My favorite animals are dragons, and if time allows, I hope to someday teach a class here on dragons, expanding beyond just the European dragons mentioned in the Harry Potter books and taking a look at different species throughout the world. Right now, my favorite class would have to be Ancient Runes. It's pretty tough, but it's very rewarding! I certainly recommend it. My secret ninja power would be having the elephental memory of a youtube video quoting champion. My greatest weakness is my inability to wink my right eye (seriously!). Even though I love animals, I'm a pretty great people person too. Lately I haven't had too much time for HOL, but don't hesitate to send me messages or try to catch me on IRC! Lastly, and most importantly, my favorite muffin flavor is butter rum. No, it's not real rum!

I have a strange habit of mixing Muggle tricks and tech with magic.

Short Bio: Alhena is a name of a star in Gemini constellation, I got that name as me and my brother, Castor, are twins. Both our parents love astronomy, so we were doomed for some starry names. When I was 6 years old, I have been shown my very first historic book about ancient wizards in Greece - my grandfather gave it to me. Since then it is my passion and my grandfather, who is columnist in Daily Prophet – (History of Magic Column), is my mentor. Nothing excites me more than to learn some ancient ways of practicing magic. Currently I am exploring Indian mythology and I must say those wizards and witches are amazing in their work. I am also huge cats lover and chocolate addict. I came to HOL in November 2010. Unfortunately sign ups were closed, so I patiently waited till January to start the school. I knew deep inside that I'll be in Ravenclaw and I was delighted that this came true. As a true Eagle I am trying to prove myself in studies, do my best to do extra credit homework and maybe win few awards. This is my first year; so many more chapters will come to this story.

Now I am back, making heaps of friends and taking classes – my two most favourite things about HOL. In the Spring term of 2010/2011 year, I finally made the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team and believe there is a bright future on HOL for me to come.

By the age of three, Briella was already devouring chapter novels as well as non-fiction. She loved school and learning. Though, she loved adventures as well. A lot of time in her childhood was spent exploring the nearby ancient castles and hiding in her treehouse reading. She would always get herself and friends into trouble, but she always managed to come out of the ordeal relatively unharmed. Her mother use to say she was too smart for her own good. Briella's home life was relatively normal, apart from the fact that it was a magical home. Not many things were done like the muggles do. Often, as a child, Briella would visit her Grandparents (Father's Parents) in Dublin. They were simple muggles who owned a pub. Briella would sit in the pub late at night with her grandparents and listen to up and coming Irish bands play on the little stage at their hole-in-the-wall pub. Briella had a very loving family life and is now excited to be at Hogwarts. Though her self-inclusion into activities has been a rather slow one, she is excited to be amongst friends and knowledge in Ravenclaw. She also joined the Pen Pal Club at HOL and she loves to correspond with different friends.

I'm 19 years old and this is the first time I've lived away from my family. My college is over a thousand miles from home, so that's been a new and wonderful experience. I come from a mixed family. My parents got divorced when I was 4 and my little brother was 3, and they both got remarried when I was in the 4th grade. My step-dad had 3 children (all older than me) from a previous marriage, my step-mom had one daughter (only a few months younger than me), so I suddenly had a huge collection of siblings, which was wonderful. The summer before my freshman year of high school my half sister was born. She's the most adorable child I have ever seen. I grew up in Texas, and was always obsessed with my education, transferring to school with more specific and challenging curriculum, and graduated in May of 2010 with an International Baccalaureate Diploma. I now attend a college in Utah, but am taking a break from honors curriculum. I’m an avid reader, and will read anything that happens to come my way. My favorites (other than the Harry Potter series) include Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, The Book Thief, and The His Dark Materials Trilogy. On HOL and in the Roost you can most often find me RPing, it is a great way to relax and participate in the creation of wonderful stories. I only came across HOL last summer after being an avid fan of the Harry Potter books for the last 10 years (don't ask me how I missed it. I must have been surfing the net with my eyes closed). Anyway, I'm really glad I have stumbled across the threshold and am currently enjoying finding my way around. This year I got really excited and joined more classes than I could cope with, namely Latin for Learners, Arithmancy for Amateurs and Greek Mythology. By Christmas I'd dropped out of them all - sorry professors! However, this term I decided to sign up for just one and was very kindly accepted onto Writing Your Own Fairytales, which I am enjoying very much. In my spare time this year I have done some of the logic puzzles in Alte Sententiam and have contributed a few chapters of Unfogging the Future to the Library Book Writing project. I look forward to taking part in more writing projects, including the novel writing challenge in November (!) and learning how to cheerlead in quidditch if I can work out how to get on there and if I can find someone to teach me!

(hence bringing out my Slytherin/ambition side) Short Bio: I joined HOL in August 2010 while I was looking for the best Hogwarts site of them all...and without a doubt I have found it. Far from just forums and roleplaying, HOL is like a community. I take 5 classes, but I only plan on finishing 3 or 4 maybe. I take A Visit to Diagon Alley, Dumbledore's Army, Marauders 101, Potions for Beginners, and Famous Witches and Wizards. I love doing the homework, for once! My absolute favorite part of HOL (besides the community spirit of it all) is the Library. I love writing and reading, and I have always wondered what it'd be like if I could get my hands on an Hogwarts textbook...and so, I love the community book writing, and I have added a few chapters. I love hanging out in the Roost (Ravenclaw common room) and posting....a LOT, especially in the Fun and Games and Common Room forums. I'm pretty hopeless at roleplaying, so I hope to finally figure it out someday so my posts can join the thousands of others in the RPG section, easily the most popular part of the Roost. And I love muffins! I value wisdom, intelligence, creative and musical talent, and ambition and resourcefulness. It is quite fitting I am in Ravenclaw. HOL is easily my favorite pasttime.
